"School of Rock" the Musical in Search of Cast

About the project: Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time! The story follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? Additional info: HOW TO PREPARE: The Singing: Be prepared with a Rock and Roll song of your choice approx. 1 minute in length in the style of the show that best showcases your voice. Please bring along your own backing track on a Bluetooth-enabled device. YouTube karaoke tracks are your friend! For comfort levels for newer auditioners, a monitor with karaoke tracks will be available if needed. The Dancing: There will be a basic movement combination taught at auditions. The Acting: Performers wishing to audition for specific roles may be asked to read sides/scenes from the script. Auditions may vary in length at the director's discretion, not to exceed one-hour and will be conducted in groups of five. Callbacks on August 12. Rehearsal days (beginning in August): Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 6pm-9pm and occasional Saturdays 10am-2pm. Performers will only be required to attend rehearsals to which they are called.
