About the plays: Synopsis of "The Turn of the Screw": Based on Henry James’ 1898 gothic novella of the same name, this story is about a young Governess who ventures to a lonely English country estate to care for two recently orphaned children, who live under the care of their wealthy but distant uncle. Upon her arrival, the Governess learns of the deaths of the childrens’ previous caretakers, whose presence now haunts the home and seduces all who remain. The young Governess decides it is her gravest charge to rid the lingering ghosts from the hallways of the home and the minds of its inhabitants. Synopsis of "Murderers": Three dark, comic monologues about revenge, blackmail, sex, money, jealousy, justice and murder. Performed separately, the tales depict desperate passions, old wounds and cold calculations that intersect in the sundrenched world of The Riddle Key Luxury Retirement Village in Florida. Each story is a cat-and-mouse mystery featuring culprits who tell how they decided to commit the perfect crime and what tripped them up along the way. Additional information: The plays will be performed as repertory theatre, performances will run on alternating days October 01 – 19. When applying, please submit the role you wish to audition for, as well as a recent headshot and your acting resume. Actors who are cast must be able to attend all performances. Due to the nature of these productions the Directors will determine when actors will be needed for rehearsals. Specific dates and times for rehearsals will be discussed at the first rehearsal (read-through). Video auditions will be accepted by those who cannot attend in person. Please prepare a one-minute monologue for your audition and be prepared to do a cold read of short script passages.

"The Turn of the Screw" play. British accents are required and the ability to change vocal and physical qualities to bring to life a variety of distinct characters, seamlessly. The Man plays multiple roles including: The Uncle, a wealthy and slightly mysterious gentleman. Mrs. Grose, the housekeeper and confidante of the Governess, she has seen unspeakable things and is protective of the children. Miles, the young boy, is charming and somewhat unsettling.
"The Turn of the Screw" play. British accent required. She is inexperienced but eager for a new position of responsibility. She is hopeful, intelligent and caring but prone to emotional volatility. She experiences a wide range of emotional states in the play including determination, terror, desperation and paranoia.
"Murderers" play. A dapper man.
"Murderers" play. A pert, adorable housewife.
