Performers Needed for Theatre Audition "The Man from Earth"
The company is holding auditions for the "The Man from Earth" play and looking for actors, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: After history professor John Oldman unexpectedly resigns from the university, his startled colleagues impulsively invite themselves to his home, pressing him for an explanation. But they’re shocked to hear his reason for premature retirement: John claims he must move on because he is immortal, and cannot stay in one place for more than ten years without his secret being discovered. Tempers rise and emotions flow as John’s fellow professors attempt to poke holes in his story, but it soon becomes clear that his tale is as impossible to disprove as it is to verify. What starts out as a friendly gathering soon builds to an unexpected and shattering climax. Rate: All roles are paid a $200 minimum stipend or a profit share, whichever is larger, depending on final ticket sales. Additional info: Rehearsals will primarily take place Mondays–Wednesdays in the evenings from August 18–September 10 (with some adjustments for holidays). We will try to accommodate conflicts where possible, but rehearsal time is very limited for this show. Tech Week will be September 15–18 in the evening. Performances will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings September 19–21 and September 26–28. These dates are required and we cannot accommodate conflicts. PLEASE NOTE: This is an outdoor show performed in September 2025. In the event of rain, performances may be canceled and rescheduled for the following weekend, October 3–5. Performers do not need to prepare any materials — auditions and callbacks will consist of cold reads from the script. Callbacks will be in the same room from 7:00 pm–10:00 pm on Tuesday, July 15th. See the attachment for details. If interested, please apply.
