"A Doctor's Visit" Audition for the Theater
Directors are calling for male and female performers for the "A Doctor's Visit" play. Please, see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Set in 2019, A Doctor’s Visit is an exploration of who we believe and why we believe them. The play follows Joy, an OBGYN nurse, the day she discovers her daughter hit another student. As she works to unravel the truth of the story, her personal and professional life align in mysterious ways. And when she finds out she was in the room the day a doctor sexually assaulted a patient, she begins to question her reality. Will she face the truth or continue to deny the apparition which haunts her imagination? Rate: Actors will receive a $500 stipend. Additional info: Rehearsals will begin mid-late August and will be scheduled around the actor’s availability, mostly evenings (7 pm -10 pm) and weekends (Saturday afternoons). Rehearsals will be in various locations around central Austin. Tech week is Nov 2nd - Nov 5th, 2025. Performances run Nov 6th - Nov 22nd 2025 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Performances are at Hyde Park Theatre, Austin. Slots are 10 minutes long and you will be reading sides from the script. Call backs will be held on July 12th.
