About the project: "Bowling Bao" is a story about a Chinese immigrant bowling community in Vancouver, Canada set in the 1980’s where a young woman fights to take up space at her beloved bowling alley. Rate: Non union Additional information: Shoot Details: Fall 2025, Specifics TBD. Location Vancouver. Deadline to submit will be July 4, 2025. When applying, please submit the following: 1. Mei finds joy in meticulously planning her outfits for bowling nights, treating the alley as her personal runway. Mei naively believes her passion for bowling will earn her and her friends respect in a male-dorninated space.

Supporting role. Chinese. Coco is creative and loves to express herself through experimental fashion trends.
Supporting role, Chinese. Jasmine is the jokester of the group without even trying. She's practicing her English every chance she gets.
Supporting role, Chinese. Eddie exudes effortless cool. As the leader of his crew and one of the top bowlers in the community, he's admired and respected in the bowling alley. Eddie projects confidence to conceal deep-seated insecurities about his place in the world outside. He clings to his status in the alley to offset the powerlessness he feels beyond its walls. Eddie is irked by Mei's uninhibited spirit and wants to put her in her place believing no girl deserves recognition in his domain.
