8 roles
Summer is the head counsellor. A not-so-natural leader, but very experienced in the world of summer camp. Usually very organized and task oriented, this year, Summer has been distracted by the disappearance of their best friend and past-head counsellor, Lily. This is Summer’s 4th year as a counsellor.
Maya is second in command. It’s not an official title, but Maya is a natural leader and falls into the role by default. Their fun and laissez-faire attitude makes them super approachable, but can also read as careless when things get serious. They are secretly dating Andrew. This is Maya’s 3rd year as a counsellor.
Andrew is the middle man. Another easily likeable individual, Andrew spends a lot of time trying to keep the peace between the other bigger, more head strong personalities in the bunch. Andrew values honesty and has a hard enough time dealing with the drama and secrets of their peers… let alone their own. They are secretly dating Maya. This is Andrew’s 3rd year as a counsellor.
Ben is bursting with energy. Their loud and active personality makes them a hit with most campers, but can often alienate the more analytical or soft spoken in any group. Ben knows he’s not everyone’s favourite person, but doesn’t always recognize the harm he can do. They are also Lily’s little sibling. This is Ben’s 2nd year as a counsellor.
Colin is clever and ambitious. Colin wants to create magic for the campers and is quick to buy in to camp lore. They are passionate about camp and always reminding the others about how camp is meant to spark joy. This is Colin’s first year as a counsellor.
Parker is analytical and opinionated. They are focused on what is true and right and don’t like to compromise. They can be skeptical to a fault, but only because they are protective of their own heart and those close to them. This is Parker’s first year as a counsellor.
Ingrid is eager to please. Ingrid wants to be accepted by their fellow counsellors above all. They crave belonging and praise, especially from the returning counsellors. This is Ingrid’s first year as a counsellor.
Helen is the monster in the lake. Her legend, like many folklore origins, is different depending who you ask. Some of the stories about her contradict others and that’s what makes her both powerful and elusive.
