Performers Needed for Theatre Audition "Tartuffe"
Talent needed for the production of "Tartuffe ". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. About the project: Tartuffe is a farcical comedy written by Molière in 1664. It follows the household of middle class landowner Orgon as he falls victim to the lies of Tartuffe, a con-man who pretends to be pious as a means to weasel his way into Orgon's home. As the power-hungry Tartuffe becomes less of a nuisance and more of a legitimate threat Orgon's family try desperately to convince him of Tartuffe’s true nature. Trout's production will be set in the modern day, with a focus on physical storytelling. Additional info: Callbacks will be held on June 9th. Tartuffe will be rehearsing in July, and perform August 7-17 at Inspiration Studios For auditions please have prepared two contrasting one minute monologues, one of which should be in rhyme or verse. Female Presenting The family housekeeper, agile and unafraid to speak her mind.
Male presenting Orgon’s son who is brash and unable to hold back his disdain for injustice.
Female Presenting Orgon's Daughter. Quiet and reserved. Unhappy with how little control she has over her life.
Male or Female Presenting Marianne's lover. Youthful and passionate, but also naive and hotheaded.
Female Presenting Orgon's mother. Judgmental and boldly opinionated.
