Logline: After his best friend vanishes, a high schooler clashes against a world that has erased all evidence his friend ever existed.

Waldo – Black, Male, pass as 16-18 years old – Rule-follower, smart, hint of timid. The first to raise his hand in class and the last person to say something if you stepped on his foot on the bus.

MalcolmMale18-24 y.o.African-American

Malcolm – Black, Male, pass as 16-18 years old – Playful, loyal, maturity wrapped in childishness. Already telling you off for stepping on Waldo’s foot on the bus. Wants to open up a book/smoke café but is never above trying to wet-willy you.

Mr. Thomas (Teacher)Male30-50 y.o.African-American

Teacher – any ethnicity, Male, 30-50 years old – Always greets you with a fake smile. The bell doesn’t dismiss you, he does. (Good amount of space for interpretation with this character.)

Store OwnerBoth genders40-56 y.o.African-American

Store Owner – Black, any gender, 40-60 years old – Owns the local corner store and neighborhood’s warmest smile. They give the boys free bags of chips every morning. Note: the store owner is "Mr. Ben" in the script, but we encourage and welcome all genders to audition.
