ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking BIPOC performers for production of "Rent". More detais are below. About the project: RENT is set in a diverse and culturally rich neighbourhood of New York City's East Village, which has a history of being a mosaic of different ethnicities, cultures and identities. While not all of of the roles are explicitly written as racialized characters, we would love to accurately represent the racial and ethnic diversity of this setting, to tell the experiences of BIPOC who have historically inhabited, and contributed to these communities. This show addresses issues such as poverty, queer rights, addiction, and HIV/AIDS, all of which disproportionately affect communities of color. The Honest Collective is committed to educating, challenging, and provoking thought in the stories we tell, and are committed to having the right voices at the table to tell them.
