Seeking Women for "Waiting for the Parade" Play
Directors are currently in need of female performers for production of "Waiting for the Parade". Please, see the details below. About the play: "Waiting for the Parade" takes place on the Home Front, during World War II, in Calgary. Through a series of 24 slice-of-life vignettes, war time songs and presentational monologues, five women share their wartime experience, as they assist with the war effort. Together they struggle, argue, sing, drink and dance, and learn to cooperate in surviving a defining moment in Canadian history. Additional information: The audition will be a cold read, using particular scenes from the play. There is no reason to prepare anything for the audition. There is no reason to book an appointment. Call backs will involve a musical and choreo audition. Rehearsals: Will be held primarily during evenings from 6:45-9:00 Tuesdays and Thursdays, and some Sunday afternoons 1-4, later this spring. The start date of the rehearsal period will be negotiated once the cast is assembled.
