Performers Needed for "Salt-Water Moon" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Seeking performers for production of "Salt-Water Moon". More details are below. Rate: Paid. Additional information: Location: Actors MUST be local to Haliburton County or be willing to travel and work as a local hire (or if you have access to a cottage in the county etc…) Opening Night: July 15, 2025 (7 performances total, swipe to see schedule). Rehearsals: Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) starting May 6, 2025 and will go for 10 weekends. Self Tapes Due - Feb 1st 2025. Callbacks will be held in person on February 15 & 16, 2025. Please, see the attachment. When applying, please submit a self tape. - Please audition with one monologue of your choice. - Please film yourself in Landscape mode (not portrait). - Does not have to be a full-length shot. Can be from waist up. The most important thing is to make sure you are clearly visible and that we can hear you. - Please begin your tape by giving your name and the role you’re auditioning for. - The tape can be uploaded to YouTube as an unlisted video and you can email a link.

Jacob is an 18-year-old man who returns to his hometown of Coley's Point, Newfoundland in 1926 to win back his former sweetheart, Mary Snow. Jacob and Mary were once in love but Jacob left for Toronto a year earlier without saying goodbye.
Mary Snow is a young woman who is torn between love, independence, and responsibility: Mary is in love with Jacob Mercer, but has become engaged to Jerome McKenzie, the local schoolmaster. Mary wants to be independent, but sees her engagement to Jerome as a way to improve her social status and financial situation.
