Auditions for May 2025 production of "The Outsider". Looking for cast. Please see the details below. About the project: Seeking 3 women and 4 men, ages 20s to 50s for various roles in this hilarious political comedy that skewers politics and celebrates democracy. Rate: Unpaid. Additional info: Non-Union. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. PERFORMANCE DATES: May 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 ,18. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm. Sundays at 2:00 pm. New Governor. Impressive ability but complete lack of confidence or people skills. A man waiting for permission to enter the room he is already standing in.
Temporary employee. Personable, likeable. Impressively confident but entirely inept without knowing it. Has the air of a politician. Her friendliness and confidence make you think “I’d vote for her!”.
Chief of Staff. Smart, endearingly earnest. Stressed out of his mind. Despite years of experience, naive on the subject of politics.
TV reporter. IF television was never invented, shed still be the journalist. Straight forward, inquisitive. Cynical and witty.
Experienced and successful political consultant. Overbearing and confident. He would be off-putting if he wasn’t so charming. 100% genuine and contagious personality.
Professional pollster. Smart, Confident with a professional’s view of politics. She sees it as a series of contests to be won.
A camera man. The working man. The “every man”. He has a low tolerance for idiocy. His quiet demeanor makes him somewhat of a mystery.
