About the project: “Almost, Maine” is an enchanting exploration of love and life set in the almost-magical town of Almost, Maine. On a winter night when the northern lights shimmer, the townsfolk of Almost experience love in strange, unexpected ways. “Almost, Maine,” takes us on a journey where hearts are broken, mended, and forever changed. Playfully described as "love, but not quite," this production brings together an ensemble of characters across a series of poignant, standalone scenes. Rate: Unpaid. Additional info: Non-Union. Please see the audition packet attached. “Almost, Maine,” is an ensemble piece featuring 19 characters, which can be played by as few as four actors or up to 19, depending on the number and availability of auditionees. Most characters are ages 20s-50s. Roles may be double cast and/or understudied. *PLEASE NOTE*Many roles may require some level of physical intimacy with another actor (i.e. touching, hugging, kissing etc). Exact amount depends on the actor's comfort level, as well as health and safety are their priority. **Randy & Chad: Must be comfortable playing a possibly gay character. No physical intimacy involved. Please bring a resume or headshot if you have one. They will take a snapshot of you when you arrive. Call Backs: December 17th | 7:30-8:30 pm The flexible structure allows for a staggered rehearsal schedule, making it possible for a varied group of actors to participate, regardless of time constraints. The first read through will be on December 22nd, 2024 (6-8 pm), tech week February 10th-13th, and with performances scheduled for February 14th, 15th, & 16th( Matinee).
