Casting Call for "Bus Stop" Stage Play
Auditions for play "Bus Stop". Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. Additional info: Auditionees will read from the script during auditions with a possible callback on December 4th. Bring a resume if you have one along with any conflicts from mid-December through production dates. The character of Cherie will be asked to sing at the audition and the character of Virgil should bring a guitar to play if possible. An owner/waitress at a diner; Grace was abandoned by her husband. She and the bus driver, Carl, have a relationship. Minor supporting character.
A nightclub singer. Cherie is young but her life experiences shows she has lived more life than Bo, a rodeo star who is in love with her. She is from the Ozarks and helped raise her five brothers and two sisters. She must be able to sing. Main character.
A young rodeo cowboy from Montana, he is a year older than Cherie. However, his life experiences have been much simpler. He owns his own ranch in Montana after his parents’ passing. He leans on his mentor, Virgil for advice. Main character.
Sheriff of the town and a deacon at the Congregational Church. A man with much wisdom, but also respected by others. Minor supporting character.
A college professor that is an alcoholic and has been divorced three times. He has an unhealthy interest of getting involved with younger women. Major supporting character.
The bus driver and love interest of Grace. Minor supporting character.
Bo’s friend and mentor, Virgil helps to explain Bo’s commitment to Cherie. Major supporting character who must know how to play the guitar.
