Though leading a life that provides joy to so many, she remains lonely and longing for a husband and a future. Seeking love and romance, she eventually embarks on a letter-writing relationship with a mysterious suitor laboring on the Panama Canal. Esther explores companionship and self-worth while she works through one of life’s adventures.
