About the project: Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced "Fronk-en-steen") inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced "Eye-gore"), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. "It's alive!" he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's. Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds. Every bit as relevant to audience members who will remember the original as it will be to newcomers, Young Frankenstein has all the of panache of the screen sensation plus a little extra theatrical flair. With such memorable tunes as "The Transylvania Mania," "He Vas My Boyfriend" and "Puttin' on the Ritz," Young Frankenstein is scientifically proven, monstrously good entertainment. Additional info: ABOUT AUDITIONS: Everyone auditioning should be prepared to learn a short dance routine to start the auditions. After dance, each auditioner will sing a song from the show based on the part they are auditioning for. Those interested in ensemble only should still prepare a song from the list of audition songs. Please see the document attached. During callbacks, those interested in Frederick, Igor, Inga, and the Monster learn a tap routine. Actors will read sides from the script and possibly sing a second song at the callbacks. Please refrain from auditioning if you have any conflicts from February 1 through the end of the run on February 22. Your assistance at set strike on February 23 is also required.
