About the project: This high-energy, Dolly Parton-powered musical serves up big laughs, bold moves, and sweet revenge as three office underdogs team up to take down their sexist boss. Fed up and fired up, Violet, Judy, and Doralee cook up a fantasy-fueled plan to take control of the workplace and their lives. With powerhouse vocals, sharp wit, and just the right amount of chaos, 9 to 5: The Musical is a feel-good, female-driven comedy that will have you cheering from your cubicle. Rate: Pay ranges from $375 per week for local, non-union actors (local is defined as living within 150 miles from CFRT); $500 for out of town, non-union actors. This production is an AEA Single Engagement Agreement Tier C production, and the weekly rate is $757.00 per week, plus per diem, health and pension, and weekly media bump. Housing for out-of-town artists is available. Additional info: Important Dates: Rehearsal Begins: August 12, 2025 Previews: September 4-5, 2025 Opening: September 6, 2025 Closing: September 28, 2025 **Note: Student and Public Matinees may be added after casting. Rehearsals are from 2:00pm – 10:00pm Tuesday – Friday and various times at the weekends. We may rehearse up to 42 hours a week. Your schedule and hours will vary depending on the size of the role. Vocal range: D5 – F3: The company’s Head Secretary and Mr. Hart’s Administrative Assistant, she is a single mother and typically stands up for what she believes in. Attractive, strong, ambitious.
Vocal range: E5 – G3: A young, sexy spitfire who works at Mr. Hart’s office. She is proof that there is more to a woman than just her looks.
Vocal range: F5 – Ab3: The “new” girl at the firm, she has been burned by her husband’s affair and is searching for personal empowerment. Insecure, determined, and hopeful.
Vocal range: Gb4 – C3: One of the firm’s executives and a notorious chauvinist. He is capable of faking charm but usually shows his true colors as an arrogant, self-absorbed boss
Vocal range: C5 – G3: The attentive office gossip queen and snitch. She has an unrequited love for Mr. Hart and will do anything she can to win his approval.
Vocal range: G4 – B2: A handsome, young office accountant. Genuine and nice, and smitten with Violet.
Vocal range: G4 – E2: Doralee’s attractive husband. He is very supportive of her professional pursuits
