"Hair" Musical Casting Female Performer

Actress for classic American tribal love-rock musical "Hair". ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the details below. Rate: A stipend is offered ranging from $500-1000 depending on the role and the actor's location. A performer local to the area or able to commute is preferred. Additional info: ALL LEADS AND SUPPORTING CAST: REQUIRED SKILLS: DANCE: Modern, Contemporary, Freestyle Improvisation, Street Dance. VOCALS: Harmonization, Folk, Pop Rock. Famously, there is a nude scene in Hair, but it is not required that you be naked to participate. It is a matter of choice. Do Note: There is a lot of physical contact amidst The Hippie Tribe as befits the time-period and subject matter. However, you will not be asked to do anything that makes you uncomfortable. Many references to drug use, sexuality, race and politics are depicted in the play and music. Look over the show's song lyrics before submitting. Much of the material has a tongue-in-cheek humor, meant to provoke the status quo, encouraging awareness and change. Rehearsal is 12-6 pm on T, W, Th till August 10. Then Monday is added to the mix. The final 2 weeks of rehearsal (tech week) will be full-time. Show runs 9/3 - 9/20. During the run all cast will have Monday and Tuesday off. When applying, please include your headshot and resume.
