ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for a comedy play "As You Like It". More details are below. About the project: "As You Like It" is a fun Shakespeare comedy packed with humor, romance and adventure that follows Rosalind, Celia, Orlando, Touchstone and many other character's enchanting adventures in the forest of Arden. Rate: Volunteer. Non-union. THIS PLAY IS NOT FOR PROFIT AND IS MORE OF A CHANCE TO HONE YOUR CRAFT. Additional information: It's a 90 minute production running in late November to early December 2024. No prior Shakespeare experience is required. This is a great opportunity to practice your acting with like-minded theatre enthusiasts. Performance Dates: The weekends of November 29th, and December 13th). Run-throughs: November 27th & 28th Rehearsals: In Trillium Park, next to Union, or in High Park (location is flexible to be convenient to actors) for 2 days a week in October and then 3 days a week in November, times are flexible and will be discussed with all actors. Self Tape: Due 11:59 on October 10th. The self-tape should consist of a Shakespeare monologue, you DO NOT need to have memorized it, and you can read off the page, we just want to see how you handle the language. Callbacks: October 14th. When applying, please submit a current photo, resume and your rehearsal availability, and a self tape of any Shakespeare monologue.
