About the project: Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by charming wealthy women out of their money. Freddy Benson swindles much humbler amounts from sympathetic women with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After a chance meeting on a train, they attempt to work together—only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: The first one to extract $50,000 from heiress Christine Colgate wins, and the other must leave town. But who’s really conning who? Additional info: Auditions will consist of three parts: Cold readings from the script. Music: 1 minute of a contemporary Broadway musical. (Please make sure to have sheet music in your correct key at auditions.) Dance audition: A basic dance audition will be taught at the initial audition. Bring comfortable clothes and appropriate shoes that allow you to move. Callbacks: Invited callbacks are scheduled for Wednesday, November 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30pm. More information will be forthcoming following auditions. If you are not called back, it does not mean you are not cast. Each auditionee will be individually contacted by the producer before a cast list is posted. Rehearsal times: Rehearsals are scheduled to begin the week of March 17, with the plan to have a readthrough (with costume measurements and headshots) in January. The rehearsal schedule will be solidified after casting is locked to best utilize the time of the cast and production team. Please make sure to list all conflicts from March 17 – May 18 so that we can ensure successful rehearsals for everyone.
