And she wanted a child, and she's got that in Charlie. Now, she wants one last thing, for Gerald to keep a promise he made to her on their wedding night. And that is why we find Lucrece on top of her roof with a bottle of whiskey in hand on a steaming hot Mississippi Tuesday night. Female presenting. She is smart, funny and determined. She loves her husband and her son. Lucrece has been holding a very big secret for a very long time.
Male presenting. He is the only son of Gerald and Lucrece and he is much loved. He's smart and kind and not sure what his mom is doing on the roof.
Male presenting. He's a farmer and a dad and a husband. He's tried to do all that as best he could. He wants things to stay the same. He also wants Lucrece to come down off the roof.
