About the project: An Italian chef named Marco heads for the old west to share his grandmother’s spaghetti recipe with the world. Upon coming across a town he heard was a paradise for new recipes and different foods, he soon discovers the town has lost its spark, and is in dire need of something new and special to rattle the townsfolk’s appetites. Not all is fine and dandy as Billy, a rough ‘n tough cowboy with a quick trigger finger, pushes back against this new and strange cuisine with his tried and true meatballs. Rate: Paid. Additional info: What To Prepare: Actors will receive sides of the script after initial email. Directors will have someone at the front desk to direct you in. -Character Description: Marco is an EXTREMELY Italian chef (with the thickest accent you ever did hear) who has come to the old west to bring spaghetti to America. He is abnormally devoted, passionate, and optimistic about his craft. He is a dorky, awkward, yet loveable guy who’s dreams are admirable to anyone who’s fantasized about the American dream.
Character Description: Billy Blaze is an old western desperado with an edgy southern accent. He holds power in the old west by selling his famous meatball recipe and eliminating competition. He is subtle and quiet, yet forceful and unpredictable. He fights with words and intimidation, but he is the embodiment of fear when he is onscreen.
Character Description: Jessie is a stone wall of a sheriff who takes no nonsense from anybody. She reminisces about better days and is a fierce pessimist who believes people cannot change. She finds herself rooting for Marco out of a desire to see him bring joy back to her life and her town. She has a strong moral compass and is quick to stand up for the little guy.
