About the project: Evoking the history of Jane Austen, the romantic sizzle of Bridgerton, and the cozy comforts of a yuletide special, the intoxicating Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley will sweep you off your feet. A “sequel” to Pride and Prejudice set two years after the novel ends, Pemberley continues the story, only this time with bookish middle-sister Mary as its unlikely heroine. Mary is growing tired of her role as a dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic escapades. When the family gathers for Christmas at Pemberley, an unexpected guest sparks Mary’s hopes for independence, an intellectual match, and possibly even love. Rate: All performance roles are volunteer. Additional info: Auditions will consist of readings from the script. You’ll receive a package via email by Monday, September 9 with all audition sides. Please bring a resume, a recent headshot, and a list of conflicts from September 14 through November 16. Production Details This production will be directed by DCP Executive Director, Steve Kaliski. All performances and rehearsals will take place at the Cain Center for the Arts in Cornelius. Rehearsals will begin on Oct 21 with performances running December 5-15. Weekday daytime availability is preferred (10-2 or 1-5) for the rehearsal period, though all are encouraged to audition.
