About the project: With his signature humor, David Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles and hopes that come with having next to nothing in America. Set in Boston's Southie neighborhood, where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo and this month's paycheck covers last month's bills, we meet Margaret Walsh,who is facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break. When a friend from the old neighborhood, who is now a successful doctor, moves back to the area, Margaret hopes he may be the ticket to turning her life around. Additional info: BASIC REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Sundays (5pm-8pm), Mondays (6:30pm-9:30pm) and Wednesdays (6:30pm-9:30pm) All actors will not be required at every rehearsal. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed after the show is cast. Rehearsals will begin Sunday, Nov. 17th. PERFORMANCE DATES: Tech Week: Feb. 16 - Feb. 19 Performances: Thu. Feb. 20, Fri. Preliminary Audition: Please prepare a 1-3 minute monologue of your choosing. Modern language, comic or serio-comic pieces are preferred.

Margie (pronounced with ahard "g" sound) is a kind, but tough single mother from South Boston. After being fired from her job and needing to care for Joyce, her developmentally delayed, adult daughter, Margie is desperate to find work.
Stevie is the manager of a Dollar Store in his Southie neighborhood. He is Margaret's former boss, and plays bingo with her at the local church. Life-long friends with his mother, Margie has known Stevie since he was a baby.
Margaret's friend who helps her with Joyce and always speaks her mind. She is a bingo enthusiast and considers herself an entrepreneur because she crafts toy rabbits and sells them.
Margaret's friend who works in a hotel. She can be blunt towards her friends, Margie and Dottie, but she is loyal and pragmatic.
Mike is originally from Southie but escaped the Boston neighborhood by attending University of Pennsylvania and becoming a reproductive endocrinologist. He now lives in Chestnut Hill, an affluent suburb of Boston, with his younger wife, Kate and his daughter Ally.
Kate is married to Mike and mother to Ally. An upper-middle class family, they live in a large, beautiful home in Chestnut Hill, an affluent suburb of Boston. Kate received her PhD from Georgetown and is a professor of literature at Boston University.
