Theater Casting Call for "Enchanted Christmas" Show
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. The show "Enchanted Christmas" is currently in need of actors, dancers and singers. Please, see the details below. About the show: A light, bright and merry show with kitsch moments, classic Christmas music and tender-hearted storytelling for audiences of all ages to enjoy and get into the Holiday spirit. Additional information: 30 minute slots available. Directors will ask you to prepare a short monologue (provided if needed) and a verse, chorus of your favourite Christmas carol. REHEARSALS: As required, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday evenings in Paris. PERFORMANCES: In Paris, Ontario. Friday Dec 13th matinee & evening; Saturday Dec 14th evening; Friday Dec 20th evening; Saturday Dec 21st evening; Sunday Dec 22nd matinee. For more details, please see attached the flyer. The Royal Household. Messerschmidt the Funny, court jester. Jovial storyteller. Rather laid back and does not take the Royals seriously.
The Family: A rather silly character. He is not the brightest torch in the palace. He loves being the king and hosting festivities. Ernastina is his favourite child. He also LOVES feathers.
Former princess of upper Poinsettia. She is a grand presence and she likes to be in control. She has a love for all things French. Eggbert is her favourite child. She calls him Oeufbert.
He is a mischievous child who loves to torment everyone. He always carries a toy weapon of some kind. He and the cook are very close. Eggbert knows how to play his mother. He and his sister dislike each other intensely.
She is her father’s favourite. She is a nasty, spoiled girl, who wants everything her way. She is awful to everyone but is nastiest to her mother. Ernastina and her brother detest each other.
Lord chamberlain. The king’s right hand man.....and brain. Copious is very greedy. If there is a chance for him to make money, he takes it. He even charges the royal family for entrance to the palace.
Cook. Julia is very particular about her meals. She does not want anyone in her kitchen, except maybe Eggbert. Julia is rather loveable.
These players are very important. They change the scenes from forest to palace and back. They always enter with a dance to John Philip Sousa’s Liberty Bell. They also love to gossip.
St. Nick, Santa Claus, Father Christmas, Chris Cringle....you get it. He is very kind and is a father figure to the elves.
Elves. Kind-hearted elf, who always finds trouble.
Elves. Bossy, a smart aleck. Loves to tease other elves.
Elves. The littlest elf. Very innocent and has an adorable quality.
Elves. A real sweetheart. Always looking after the other elves, defending them from Balthasar’s remarks.
Elves. The musical elf. Always has a trumpet and brings good news to all.
Elves. One half of twins. Creative and kind.
Other half of twins. A worrier. Creative and kind. Often speaks along with Joice.
Guest. A very bold character with a huge heart. Myra is an old-world matchmaker and likes to be called Sadie.
