Casting Performers for "Dogfight" Musical Show
The company is holding auditions for musical "Dogfight" and looking for performers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Rate: Rehearsal and show Stipend / Non-Union Additional info: Please Provide a Headshot and current theatrical Résumé through form before attending the open audition date. Please prepare 16-32 bars of sheet music in the correct key - Contemporary Broadway style. Reference the vocal range of the roles below. An accompanist will be provided. Please no CD, iPod or Acapella auditions. There may be a dance audition after singing. Please bring all of your respective shoes. There will be time and space for you to change and warm up. Please bring dance attire for the dance portion of the audition. You will be taught 4 – 6 counts of eight for the audition. Be prepared to list any conflicts you'll have with the rehearsal schedule on the audition form. Dance Requirements: Performers may be asked to learn and perform a short routine at the audition. Please bring proper attire and shoes for movement. Changing rooms will be provided. Rehearsals will be held mainly on weekday nights and weekends starting in late August/Early September. A more thorough rehearsal schedule will be available at the audition. Tech week will be September 9th - September 13th leading into the show weekend (No conflicts during this time, please). A diner waitress who dreams of life as a musician. She is a naturally shy girl, naive of the world around her. Becomes smitten with Birdlace and discovers a lot about her self-respect and confidence along the way. Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range bottom: G3
A Marine private first class and Birdlace's good friend. A bit nerdy and very inexperienced with the opposite sex. Vocal range top: B4 Vocal range bottom: B2
A Marine private first class and Birdlace's closest friend. A poor Southern cad, he is the most vocal supporter of the dogfight and fairly crude in his behavior and language. Vocal range top: B4 Vocal range bottom: B2
Boland's date for the dogfight. She is a nearly toothless and homely prostitute. Crass and brash, but sneaky and cunning. Vocal range top: Eb5 Vocal range bottom: F#3
The owner of the local diner. She is unamused by the Marines' antics and protective of her daughter, Rose.
