About the project: "Six Southern Louisiana women go to Truvy’s Beauty Shop where anyone who is anyone goes to get their hair done. Best Friends gossip about husbands and hair doo’s and everything in between. The ladies go through every emotion in this humorous but poignant play. Where you find out Best Friends are always at your side." Additional info: Prepare for auditions: cold reading from the script. Callbacks if needed will be on Wednesday July 25 (7pm). Rehearsals are planned for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings starting at 7:00 pm or Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 pm. Depending on cast availability. The owner of the beauty salon, loves her work is obsessed with beauty all aspects. A true gossip- but never mean or vindictive, loves her friends. Knowledge of hair styling a plus.
She is shy and fragile but has a very big heart. She becomes very devoted to her faith. Must see changes in personality throughout the play.
The Grand Dame of all the ladies, Wealthy and Distingushed -best friends with Ousiser. She is quick witted and sharp tongue must keep up with Ousiser insults. (Must have good timing and humor)
Most upbeat of all the ladies. She is loved by everyone. Loves the color pink. Very positive. She is a diabetic must have diabetic seizure on stage.
Mother of Shelby. She is always in control, disagrees with Shelby sometimes but her daughter is her world. Must be able to go through many emotions throughout the play.
Old curmudgeon seems to hate everyone and everything. She is sarcastic and snarky but truly is friends with all the ladies (Must have good timing and sense of humor.
