About the project: Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy, and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can’t she? Set in the late 1970s with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic. Additional info: First Rehearsal: August 26, 2024 Tech/Dress: October 1-16, 2024, 2024 Performances: October 17-November 3, 2024 Please be sure to list all conflicts on your audition form. If you have a resume and/or headshot, please bring them to the audition. Please prepare a 32-bar song (no longer please) in the style of the show. Bring sheet music. There will be an accompanist that will play your selection for you. No tracks will be allowed. On the night of your audition, please arrive at 6:30PM to be ready for the 7PM start. You will dance first, based on the order of arrival and then perform a short dance audition. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. You can then change for the vocal audition if you want to. Please be prepared to stay until 10PM Important Information: You must be available for EVERY technical rehearsal (Friday before Opening through Preview Night) and EVERY performance to be cast in this show.
