"The Resurrectionist" Stage Play Seeking Cast

About the project: SYNOPSIS: It is 1890 and Clara Williams must disguise herself as a man in order to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor. Unfortunate events force her to befriend a surly gravedigger named Jack, who’s busy protecting his graveyard from ‘resurrectionists’ or body snatchers who dig up corpses for profit. It’s modern day and Roxie Brown has quit her job and moved back home to make it big as a poet. Her dreams may be dashed as her mother gives her an ultimatum – one that causes her to team up with Drew – a genius, bullheaded medical student who gets on Roxie’s last nerve. As the story unfolds, it’s clear that love isn’t the only thing connecting these two women across space and time. Rate: Non-paid. Additional info: ACTOR REQUIREMENTS: seeking actors (18+) of any size, race, ethnicity or gender identity. This production will be ensemble-based in nature and will require a willingness to play, explore, and create as a group. Auditions will consist exclusively of cold readings from the script. Copies of the relevant cuts will be provided to those wishing to attend the Zoom auditions. Rehearsals will run early April 2024 through the end of May 2024. Reasonable, pre-disclosed conflicts will be considered when developing the rehearsal schedule. Mandatory dates will include tech rehearsals May 28th-30th. Each performance will be performed in person. Performance dates: May 31st – June 2nd & June 7th – June 8th, 2024. If you are interested, please apply.
