Casting Talents for 'Metropolis the Musical'

An original musical version of Fritz Lang’s iconic 1927 film Metropolis will run from August 8-11, 2024 at the Elsinore Theatre in Salem, OR. Based on one of the most influential science fiction movies ever made, Metropolis: The Musical will be staged as a never-before-seen production that gives new life to the story of technological threats and love that triumphs over all. Playwright and director Tracey Ward brings new dialogue to the silent film script, paired with a soundtrack of rock music that pays tribute to Giorgio Moroder’s 1984 cult classic version. Her new theater company, Metropolis Productions, is drawing together national and local talent, such as Pancho Demmings our captivating Narrator, and Bonnie Morgan our enchanting Maria. They are passionate about the power of the performing arts and how theater can provide a lens for understanding the challenges our society grapples with today.
