"Our Town" Drama Stage Play Seeking Cast
Open auditions for the iconic drama "Our Town". Looking for actors. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. See the breakdown below. About the project: Seeking a large ensemble cast of all ages with a passion for storytelling. SYNOPSIS: Described by Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written,” Our Town presents the small town of Grover’s Corners in three acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and sets, the play depicts the simple daily lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theatre – die. Additional info: Auditioners may attend both nights of auditions. Attendance on both nights is not required. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO AUDITION: Auditioners may bring a resume and headshot, but are not required to do so. Auditioners may bring a completed Audition Form (see attachment) or fill one out onsite. Auditioners will be asked to read scenes from the script. Please arrive on time and bring a full list of schedule conflicts. You can expect to stay the whole evening. Actors will be called to the stage one or more times to try different scenes and different actor combinations. SCHEDULE: The schedule will be made considering performer availability and need. Performers will be called to select rehearsals pertinent to their roles. Great care will be given to limit rehearsals. Rehearsals may take place Monday-Thursday evenings, likely from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. PRODUCTION DATES: June 13 – 23, with performances Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday (matinee) (8 shows). If you are interested, please apply.
