The company is holding auditions for the iconic musical "Cabaret" and looking for actors, singers, and dancers, please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Synopsis: Welcome to the infamous Kit Kat Klub, where a mysterious Emcee, Sally Bowles, and a raucous ensemble take the stage nightly to tantalize the crowd-inviting them to leave their troubles outside. But as life in pre-WWII Germany grows more and more uncertain - will the decadent allure of Berlin nightlife be enough to get them through these dangerous times? Additional info: PERFORMANCE DATES: May 17th - June 1st, 2024 Acting: You will be asked to read for us from the “Character sides” (please see the attachment). If you are auditioning for a principal role directors recommend you study the role and present material consistent with the character. Movement: Please dress comfortably for movement. You will be taught a short dance sequence. Music: Prepare 16 to 32 measures or at least one minute of a Broadway song. A song from Cabaret is preferred but not required. Find the section of the song that best features your vocal ability. You will be responsible for providing your own accompaniment/karaoke track and device. Blue Tooth speaker will be provided. A British cabaret singer at the Kit Kat Klub. A beautiful Tornado! Sally thinks she’s more refined and sophisticated than she really is but her naïveté is part of her flighty charm. She is charismatic and strong willed. Must act, sing, and dance. British accent Vocal Range: Mezzo, E3–C5.
An American novelist and English teacher living in Berlin in search of writing inspiration. Explores the complexities of politics, culture, and love & sexuality with those he meets on his travels, but maintains balance and a sense of personal morals throughout. Must act and sing. Vocal Range: Baritone, C#3–E4
A friendly, likable, charming German who befriends and takes English classes from Cliff, but is later revealed to be in support of the Nazi party. Must act and sing. German accent. Vocal Range: Baritone/Low Tenor, D3–F#4
Landlady at the boarding house. She rents rooms to Cliff, Sally, and several other characters. She is alone and resigned to her place in life, but secretly longs for companionship with Herr Schultz. Must act, and sing. German accent. Vocal Range: Alto, Eb3–B4
A Jewish fruit shop owner who falls in love with Fräulein Schneider; sweet, loveable, optimistic but naïve about the political turmoil in Germany. Must act, and sing. German accent. Vocal Range: Baritone/low tenor, C3–G4.
