Job for Actors in "Noises Off" Play

There are four things about this show that anyone auditioning should be aware of before considering signing up: 1. “Noises Off” is a VERY physical play with a lot of stairs, quick changes, stunts and complicated movement. A great deal of focus, concentration, and physical stamina will be required of each actor. 2. “Noises Off” is also a very funny and very elaborate farce within a farce. Each and every role requires an actor that can demonstrate a range of emotions with clear intentions, a strong voice, excellent diction, and superior comedic timing. 3. “Noises Off” is a play that involves a certain level of physical intimacy between various characters at different times. Some characters will also spend time in varying states of undress. 4. Most importantly, the company of actors they end up with (unlike the characters they play on stage) MUST work together as an ensemble. “Noises Off” is an intricate show requiring precision and professionalism. SHOW DATES: The show itself runs February 2,3,4,9,10,11, 2024 and all cast members will be required to be available for any and all tech and dress rehearsals. You will be also expected to assist with striking the set. REHEARSALS: Official rehearsals may begin as early September (full schedule to come). Auditions will be held individually — not in groups. Those auditioning are encouraged to bring along a short monologue or other spoken word piece. You may or may not be asked to improvise a scene and/or read from the script as well. Experience isn’t required but, if you’ve performed before, please bring along a resume. They will be taking your photo on site but you’re welcome to include a headshot (if you have one). Please arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment in order that you might fill out some required in-house paperwork. Please note: Ages are approximations only. Anyone 19+ may audition for any role and no actor will be turned away for being too old or too young. If interested, please apply to book your audition time (July 17th and 18th; Between 7 and 10pm).
