Performers Required for "The Importance of Being Earnest" Play
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are looking for talent to play roles in "The Importance of Being Earnest" play. Additional information: Rehearsals start: Thursday, August 24, 2023. First Preview: Saturday, September 23, 2023. Opening: Thursday, September 27, 2023. Closing: Sunday, October 15, 2023. Those auditioning will also be given a script selection from the show to prepare. British accents will be explored in the audition. Actors are asked to prepare their audition pieces in a British accent if they are comfortable doing so. Currently only considering submissions from Alberta-based actors. When applying, please submit resume and head shot. Write “Earnest” in the subject line and indicate the role you are interested in in the body of the email.

(she/her): A domineering matriarch, Gwendolen’s mother and Algernon’s aunt.
(she/her). Sophisticated and cosmopolitan.
(she/her). Imaginative and romantic, Jack’s ward.
(she/her): Cecily’s puritanical governess.
(he/him): The rector on Jack’s estate.
(he/him): Butlers to Algernon and John.
