Theatre Play "Head Over Heels" Needs Performers
Seeking male and female performers for the "Head Over Heels" theatre show. Please see more details listed below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Rate: CONTRACT / LOA / $740 weekly minimum (LOA ref LORT) Additional info: Submission Deadline: Wednesday, 2/1 at 6 pm CST Please prepare a song from the show in your vocal range. Rehearsals begin July 18th, 2023 Performances begin August 9th, 2023, and close September 10, 2023, with six to seven shows per week: Wednesdays through Sundays at 7:30 pm and some Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30 pm See the attachment for more info. King of Arcadia, Basilius clings to tradition. Used to being in charge, having his authority threatened or questioned is an unfamiliar and uncomfortable feeling for him. Blindly thinks Arcadia is doing great under his masculine rule, which will be sorely tested during the course of the show. Vocal Range: Tenor
Queen of Arcadia. Smart, knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. Like any long standing spouse, knows how to get her way with her husband when push comes to shove. Vocal Range: Alto
Basilius and Gynecia's older daughter. Known to be the most beautiful bachelorette in the Kingdom. She is willful, self dramatizing, and seemingly obsessed with appearances. Caught between who she really is and who the world wants her to be. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano with belt.
Basilius and Gynecia's shy younger daughter. Used to being in the shadow of her older sister, Philoclea has learned that her value lies in being a “good girl” who behaves according to the expectations of others. She is in love with her childhood friend Musidorous. Vocal Range: Soprano with belt.
The King's viceroy; father to Mopsa. Wise, gentle, deeply loyal even when he disagrees with or doubts Basilius’s actions. A widower who bears the weight of missing his wife. He adores his daughter but has difficulty expressing his feelings and processing the feelings of others. Vocal Range Tenor, Baritone, Bass
The loyal handmaiden to Pamela with whom she also happens to be in love. Growing up without a mother has made Mopsa wise beyond her years about everyone and everything. She is often able to see the truths of others before they realize it for themselves. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano with belt.
A pure-hearted and guileless shepherd who pines for his childhood friend and beloved, Philoclea. Forced to disguise himself as a woman in order to stay near to his love. Vocal Range: Tenor
