An eternal student at the university and former tutor to Ranevskaya’s deceased son. A highly articulate intellect. Projects passion; a revolutionary. Can be foolish. Has never forgiven himself for Grisha’s drowning.
Ranevskaya's adopted daughter who manages the estate. She constantly needs to feel occupied and is often ordering others around. She is waiting for Lopakhin to propose to her and frustrated by her situation in life.
Anya’s eccentric governess. She delights in doing magic tricks. She is talkative and entertaining but stands by her singularity.
A housemaid at the estate. She is anxious and very sensitive. She is in love with Yasha and rejects Yepikhodov’s proposal.
The bookkeeper of the estate. Frequently clumsy and subject to daily misfortunes and ridicule; unabashedly in love with Dunyasha. Seeking an actor with comic ability. Guitar skills a plus.
Ranevskaya’s footman; sexy, confident, and insolent, thinking only of himself; an ambitious opportunist.
Nicknamed "Old Horse". A landowner who is constantly in debt and asking to borrow money, expecting that fate will solve his financial problems. Unlike the Ranevsky family, he has no feeling for his heritage or for the land.
