Auditions for play "Is He Dead?". In need of cast. Please see the breakdown below. Additional info: Actors will be asked to perform cold readings from the script. Actors should ideally prepare a monologue in a similar style to the character they wish to read for. Anyone wishing to take an accented role should prepare a monologue in the accent of the character they will read for. Actors without a prepared monologue may audition just with the cold readings of the script. Performances - January 27 - February 5.

A young American artist, studying under Millet, strong “American” accent, usually New Yorker or Midwestern.
A German artist also studying with Millet. Very strong German accent coded into the script.
The sweetheart of Millet, sister to Cecile, and daughter of M. LeRoux.
Chicago’s jealous and suspicious sweetheart.
The father of Cecile and Marie, Widowed and enfeebled by crushing debt.
A down-on-his-luck, artist of endless talent, who is unable to sell a painting (based on the real- life Millet). Fakes his death and comes back in drag as the Widow.
A picture dealing agent who charges interest bordering on usury, must be played as cluelessly slimy.
