Pleasant, intelligent, attractive, witty, and independent. Melissa is a pediatric nurse who is tired of her mother's attempts to set her up. She's sarcastic, self-aware, and confident on the surface, but underneath she's looking for something genuine. Character: Smart, warm, funny, emotionally grounded Must be comfortable carrying a dialogue-heavy lead role.
LEAD Handsome, charming, intelligent, quick-witted, and confident without being arrogant. Max is a mystery writer with a playful sense of humor and a unique approach to dating. He initially presents himself as blind, but Melissa eventually discovers the truth. Character: Charismatic, romantic, mysterious, funny Strong comedic timing and romantic chemistry required.
SUPPORTING Willowy, confident, fashionable, outspoken, and completely incapable of filtering herself. Vickie is Melissa's hilarious friend and provides much of the film's comic relief. Character: Bold, energetic, outrageous, lovable Strong improv/comedic timing is a major plus.
SUPPORTING Physically imposing but surprisingly nervous and socially awkward. Dave is Vickie's companion and the reluctant voice of reason during the disastrous dinner. Character: Dry, sarcastic, nervous, likable Excellent deadpan and reaction-based comedy required.
