“Where The Light Stays” Film in Need of Actors
Casting call for “Where The Light Stays” film (OIF X Challenge). Looking for cast. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please see the details below. About the project: Genre: Psychological Thriller/Drama. A new heartfelt psychological thriller exploring dementia and the lingering effects of childhood trauma. Logline: When a woman awakens in a familiar yet distorted version of her past, she must navigate haunting visions and fragmented memories to uncover what’s real before the light around her fades completely. Rate: TBD for key roles - dependent upon funding. Director will try her best to give all cast a gas stipend at the very least. (Please specify if you are willing to work unpaid or not). Additional info: This film is being created with the goal of getting it into prestigious film festivals. Dates: 2-3 days, estimated shoot the weekend of Jan. 30-Feb.1, and/or Feb. 6-8. (Caucasian or mixed): A young woman trapped in a room whose decor and inhabitants are ever-changing. (Must be comfortable with a brief kiss with another actor). (NOTE: character must be able to cry on cue, and be comfortable with dark material - nothing explicit!) Lead role.
(Caucasian or mixed): A woman trapped - both physically and mentally. Suffering from dementia. (NOTE: These roles will be cast largely off of appearances with an actress who best resembles the younger/older versions of the character.) Elaine’s college-aged loving fiancee who is always there for her throughout life’s challenges - until he isn’t… (Must be comfortable with a brief kiss with another actor, and in sfx makeup.) Supporting role.
(Caucasian or mixed): Elaine’s prim and proper mother. She loves her daughter but is facing lingering guilt due to her past actions. Supporting role.
A kind nurse at a care home who has been around the block a few times, and loves to share his insight with those in need. Supporting role.
(Caucasian or mixed): Elaine’s son who is doing his best to help his teenage daughter cope. Supporting role.
A dark entity haunting Elaine - you never see his face, but his voice and presence are extremely intimidating. A tall, thin build is preferred! (Must be comfortable in sfx makeup.) Supporting role.
A nursing home patient celebrating his birthday with family. Featured role.
Visiting their family member at the nursing home to celebrate his birthday. (Must be comfortable with singing “Happy Birthday”.) Featured role.
