Actors needed for "In Our Eyes" short narrative drama. See more details below. Synopsis: The biggest sacrifice a mother can make is letting go. Love caused Vivian's birth mother to surrender her, and love enkindled Vivian's adopted mother to take her in. This diverse family is created by choice and must work to build a bond stronger than blood. In Our Eyes takes place in the early 2000s, right at the beginning of when USA international adoptions were spurring attention from longing parents looking to start a family. This project is approved under the SAG-AFTRA Micro-Budget Agreement Additional info: Rehearsals in November; shoots 12–14 Dec. 2 days in Cleveland, 1 day in Youngstown, OH Filming near Cleveland, OH. (Lead) White mom in her mid-30s; suburban housewife who never really wanted kids until recently. Her body is capable of carrying a child, but she’s always rooted for the underdog. She doesn’t care about blood and genetics, she just wants to give a home to a healthy baby girl who needs a family. Her family doesn’t understand the decision to adopt, but when Mom looks at Vivian, the only thing she sees is her perfect daughter. Must be comfortable with children and infants.

(Supporting) A grounded and compassionate child psychologist with two adopted children of her own. Known to Vivian as "Dr. Look-At-Eyes," she brings personal insight and gentle wisdom to help bridge hearts within families learning how to love through fear.

(Supporting) A down-to-earth electrician with a humble upbringing and a hesitant heart. Adoption was his idea-meant as a stall-but holding Vivian for the first time changed everything. Flying to China became the start of a new journey into fatherhood and self-discovery.

(Mandarin-speaking) Bearing the greatest weight a woman will ever have to carry, the young woman has long made a decision on what to do with her baby. She is too young to care for a child and in order to give her child the best chance at life, the mother has decided to give away her baby to an orphanage in the hopes that she will thrive in another family.
