About the project: Synopsis: Untitled Oner is a poignant, one-take short film that follows Sean, a closeted 15-year-old, as his mother discovers he has a boyfriend. What begins as a quiet night at home turns into a tense and emotional confrontation that tests the love and understanding within their family. Told through intimate performances and long, continuous takes, the story explores identity, fear, and the transformative power of acceptance. Additional info: This is a 15-page one-shot, actors must be able to memorize a considerable amount of lines. (Lead). 18+ to play 15–17. Kind, sensitive, and introspective. Struggles with insecurity and fear of rejection as he comes to terms with his sexuality. Must convey emotional depth and vulnerability. One scene requires Sean to appear shirtless with a towel securely wrapped around the waist, actor must be comfortable with this. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
(Supporting). Loving but controlling mother. Deeply religious and traditional, yet conflicted when faced with her son’s truth. Must portray a range of emotions from anger to empathy. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
(Supporting). Stern and emotionally reserved father. A man of old-fashioned beliefs who loves his son deeply but struggles to reconcile that with his upbringing. Fluent Spanish required.
