Actors & Dancers Needed for Christmas Show Running December 4-28
About the show: The women of the Beulaville Baptist Book Club are in dire straits financially, and as a last-ditch attempt to save their book club they decide to do a fundraiser and hire the Beaumont Ballet to perform Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”. Madge’s Piña Colada Casserole sickens the cast and are unable to perform. Luckily, there is another dance troop in town. The Velvet Kittens Burlesque Dancers are stuck in Beulaville because their van broke down on their way to New Orleans. Madge has never heard of Burlesque, or as she pronounces it “Bur-less-Q”, and in an act of necessity hires the troupe to do “The Nutcracker”. The end result? The most original, unusual, & comical Nutcracker you have ever seen! With over 400 performances it's become the longest running Nutcracker in Texas history & developed a cult-like following with audiences. The Burlesque style of this show is PG-13. No nudity. Female or male, any race, 30+. She is the good hearted not-so-bright lady who accidentally food poisons the Beaumont Ballet and convinces the Burlesque troupe to do the Nutcracker not knowing anything about burlesque. Of the dancer roles she shares a book scene with the Book Club ladies.
female, any race 20-30. She is a total diva who cares more about her appearance than anything else and even touches up her make-up while dancing. This role requires dancing.
