About the project: At 15, Gilles Villeneuve is not like all the other teens. In his small town of Berthier, amidst his uncles who are mechanics and his parents who own a sewing company, Gilles dreams big. Initially drawn to the trumpet, Villeneuve stumbles upon snowmobile racing and starts competing. It's during the tough races of this new sport that he discovers his talent for driving competitively, giving him the confidence to leave his mechanic job behind and pursue car racing as a career. Unfortunately, in 1972, being a broke Quebecois and an aspiring racer don't mix that well. Gilles has to convince his family and take many financial risks to carve out his spot in the racing world, usually reserved for the wealthy and privileged. Despite his natural talents, Villeneuve's dream of one day sitting behind the wheel of a Formula 1 vehicle seems constantly out of his reach. That is, until an incredible opportunity arises: Famous Formula 1 drivers, including James Hunt, are invited to race in the Formula Atlantique of the Trois-Rivières Canadian Grand Prix. Gilles dominates this series but faces many financial troubles and gets excluded from the competition. But he doesn't let it stop him and does everything in his power to get his car back on the track to try and prove that he has the talent to beat the best in the world. His talent leads to dominating the polls and catches the eye of Hunt, who talks to his team about him. McLaren contacts Villeneuve to compete for them for his first Formula 1 European Grand Prix! It's during this Grand Prix that an old man with white hair nicknamed "Ingegnere," founder of the Scuderia and the pope of motorsport, randomly sees the young Quebecer on television.... His curiosity is piqued by this "piccolo Canadese," and he invites him to Maranello for a test drive in the most coveted car in the world, the Ferrari F1. Rate: Union. UDA. Performer must be fluent in Italian (the dialogue is in Italian only) and have a ressemblance to Enzo Ferrari. Founder of Scuderia Ferrari, a racing team which became a pioneer and then a pillar of the Formula 1 world championship. He is interested in Gilles Villeneuve after seeing him racing at the Silverstone Grand Prix. Enzo is determined, visionary and tough with his pilots, except for Gilles, who is like a son to him.
SECOND ROLE. Enzo Ferrari's young assistant who informs him about Gilles Villeneuve while they see him on television at a race, as well as stories of his triumphs in the Formula Atlantic, and what they say about his talent.

Intellectual, middle-class background, talented mechanical engineer who was responsible for Ferrari's great period from the 70s to the early 80s. The relationship Gilles had with Mauro is very similar to the one developed with Ray Wardell. A relationship of kindness, mentorship, and great complicity.
