5 roles

MarmeeBoth genders40-69 y.o.All ethnicities

Female-identifying. The heart of the March family. Wise, and endlessly compassionate, Marmee leads her daughters with empathy and quiet strength. She teaches by example—modelling resilience, generosity, and integrity in the face of hardship. Though gentle in spirit, she has a deep well of conviction and is unafraid to speak truth when it matters most.

MegBoth genders25-35 y.o.All ethnicities

Female-identifying. Nurturing, responsible, safe, and warm. Meg often takes on a maternal role, guiding and caring for her younger sisters with as much patience and love as she can (though she is still a young woman). Though deeply devoted to her family, Meg secretly longs for a life of elegance and refinement, with beautiful gowns and the comforts of wealth.

JoBoth genders25-39 y.o.All ethnicities

Female-identifying. Extremely ambitious, independent, and passionate. Adventurous and brave with a fiery spirit, Jo is often frustrated with the distance between where she is - and where she wants to be. Wanting to change the world, she’s an incredibly smart aspiring writer. Very rough-and-tumble, she does not fit into the traditional idea of a “woman’s role”.

BethBoth genders20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

Female-identifying. Pure goodness. Very sweet and overwhelmingly shy, she had to be taken out of school due to social anxieties. An extremely special person, she is sweet and generous to a fault. A peace-maker and optimist, she loves her family and the simple things in life so much it hurts. Beth is incredibly sensitive and has more courage than anyone will ever know. Always encouraging her sisters to dream, she is an observer and healer. Actor must play piano and carry a tune.

AmyBoth genders20-24 y.o.All ethnicities

Female-identifying. Young and incredibly energetic. Amy is always balancing her concern about being the “perfect lady,” with her fiery temper. She’s an artist and adores all beautiful things. Opinionated and spunky, she is very socially intelligent and sometimes behaves in an affected manner. Still early in her education, she aspires to use the fanciest vocabulary (often incorrectly!).
