About the project: The Velveteen Rabbit is a fantasy play that is enjoyable for all groups (including adults). The Velveteen Rabbit is an emotional journey through time, as told through the eyes of a young man looking back on his childhood. By reliving the relationship between his 4-year-old self and his favorite toy, the Velveteen Rabbit, he rediscovers the true meaning of friendship. Central to the story is, of course, the Velveteen Rabbit, who is introduced to the idea of becoming real by the Old Rocking Horse. The play explores the rewards of loyalty, the poignancy of loss, and the wonderful, surprising power of love. Additional info: REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: November 10th-December 11th, Mondays-Thursdays 6:30-9:00 PM (No rehearsal on November 27th) TECH WEEK: December 8th-December 11th 6:00-9:00 PM PERFORMANCE DATES: December 13th-December 28th, 2025 Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 PM Additional weekday evening performances TBD WHAT TO BRING: A headshot and resume if you have them. A complete list of any conflicts you have during the rehearsal schedule. There can be no conflicts during tech week or performances. Audition will consist of cold readings from the script.
