Description:

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Seeking performers for production of "Macbeth". More details are below. About the project: "Macbeth" is a tragedy by William Shakespeare that follows the rise and fall of its title character, a Scottish nobleman named Macbeth. The play begins with Macbeth encountering three witches who prophecy that he will become the King of Scotland. Ambitious and spurred on by his wife, Lady Macbeth, he murders King Duncan to seize the throne. However, his guilt and paranoia soon consume him, leading to further murders, including that of his friend Banquo, and a spiraling descent into madness. Macbeth’s obsession with securing his power causes him to lose his humanity, becoming increasingly tyrannical and isolated. As Macbeth's reign grows more oppressive, his paranoia intensifies, leading to rebellion against him. Macduff, a nobleman who has suffered under Macbeth’s rule, ultimately confronts him in battle. In the final confrontation, Macbeth is killed, fulfilling the witches' prophecy in an unexpected twist. Lady Macbeth, driven mad by her own guilt, dies, and Malcolm, the rightful heir, ascends to the throne, restoring order to Scotland. Through Macbeth's tragic downfall, the play explores themes of ambition, guilt, fate, and the corrupting influence of power. Rate: Non-Union. A $500 Honorarium will be offered to actors involved in the production. Additional information: AUDITION LOCATION Langley BC. SHOOT/PERFORMANCE DATE(S) January 22 - February 8th.
