Performers Needed for "The Stand" Play

Wasaga Beach, ON, Canada
ID: 290267Exp: 8/13/2025
Description:

ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking performers for production of "The Stand". More details are below. About the play: Set in a small, idyllic Canadian community on the shores of Lake Ontario, The Stand follows birdwatcher Louise Wilson as she unexpectedly finds herself at the heart of a battle to save her beloved local woods from being developed into townhouses. The conflict pits neighbour against neighbour and friend against friend — including Louise’s lifelong bestie Justine and her slick developer husband, Ned. When Louise’s daughter Trish returns home from university, she joins the fight in dramatic fashion — literally taking a stand by living in a tree to protest the development. As tensions rise, secrets surface, and unlikely alliances form (including a budding romance between Trish and Ned’s son Tom). Witty, warm, and sharply observed, The Stand is a heartfelt comedy about friendship, family, generational divides, environmental activism, and the awkward, hilarious ways people try to do the right thing. Additional information: Location: Wasaga Beach, ON. No monologue required! Auditions will be group-style, reading scenes from the script. Just bring your enthusiasm — and if you have them, a resume and head shot. If you're interested, please apply.
