Seeking males and females for the "A Backstage Christmas" show. Review the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. About the project: Elise Garland wants a quiet Christmas, so she can focus on the holiday rush with her online marketing business. But when her son Noah is offered a stage role in “Bob Cratchit’s Toy Shoppe” at a local amusement park, she can’t say no, especially when dynamic actor Calderon Myles makes a desperate plea. It’s a far bigger commitment than Elise realized but with Noah loving every minute, she can’t help but take on some of the holiday cheer – and take note of Cal – whose enthusiasm for the stage and the season has warmed her heart. But when she’s forced to make a decision that will not only affect Cal’s Christmas present but also his Christmas future, will it also derail a second chance for love? Additional info: While this is not a musical, there are roles that require some singing (Noah, the “Trio,” and Carolers). If you are interested in one of these roles, please prepare the cut of “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” as indicated (see the attachment) in the key of your choosing. Directors will have you sing it a cappella at the audition, as all the singing in the show is without piano accompaniment. Lead Role (in nearly every scene, many lines) Cautious, practical, and dedicated to her online marketing business. A bit of a workaholic but has a warm presence and a quick wit. She’s a young widow who is raising her son Noah on her own. She is close to her family, especially her sister, Lori.
Lead Role (in nearly every scene, many lines) A dynamic, vivacious actor. Plays the title role in Bob Cratchit’s Toy Shoppe. A leader and ‘morale booster’ backstage. He’s had a decent stage career, but he is struggling with an ailment he’s trying to hide.
Supporting Role (in multiple scenes with a significant amount of lines) Elise’s sister. A busy mom who’s confident and fun, but also blunt and direct. Married to Bruce. All about Christmas.
Supporting Role (in multiple scenes with a significant amount of lines) Director of Entertainment, Silver Ridge Park. Sardonic, cynical.
Key Featured Role (in several scenes with multiple lines) Lori’s husband. Athletic and into sports. He and Lori own Phillips Graphics.
