5 roles
Lead Role. A quiet, southern belle live-in nurse with a porcelain exterior and deep cracks beneath. She genuinely believes her actions are acts of love. She is maternal, nurturing and even sweet until reality clashes with her fantasy. Then, she becomes erratic and violent. MUST convey extreme psychological range (childlike affection to chilling violence). Note: This role includes intense emotional material and close physical proximity. Southern accent preferred but not required.
Lead Role. A regular young man with a passing resemblance to pop star Ryder Voss, kidnapped by June and held captive. “The Chosen” is emotionally raw, increasingly desperate, and forced to play along with June’s fantasy to survive. He transitions from confused, to terrified, to bold, fighting back mentally and physically. He carries a wounded strength and never stops trying to reason with his captor. Note: Must be comfortable with physical action (tied, crawling, restrained scenes).
Supporting Role. A lonely, warm-hearted widow clinging to dignity in the face of aging and isolation. Her bond with June is tragically one-sided. Where June sees her as an obstacle, Mrs. Delacroix sees her as family. Note: Non-verbal performance is critical. Must convey emotion with silence and small gestures.
Supporting Role. A wildly successful pop star with boyish charm, genuine charisma, and a slightly awkward stage presence that makes him endearing. He’s humble, grounded, and doesn’t quite seem to grasp the full extent of his fame. In June’s mind, he’s her soulmate, though in reality, he has no idea who she is.
Supporting Role. Bennett is the smooth, charismatic host of a late-night talk show. The kind of seasoned showman who’s interviewed everyone from washed-up sitcom stars to the next big thing. But in June’s delusion: he is a dream version of celebrity culture, comfort television, and admiration, filtered through a dangerously romanticized lens.
