About the project: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Tennessee Williams. It tells the story of the Pollitt family, particularly Brick, a former football star, and Maggie, also known as Maggie-the-cat. Throughout the play, the problems in Brick and Maggie's marriage are further exposed: Maggie wants to have a child, but Brick won't sleep with her, and there is suspicion that he was in love with his now-deceased friend, Skipper. Maggie says that Brick has turned her into a "cat on a hot tin roof," having made her anxious and unhappy. The events occur in the couple's bedroom as the characters prepare to hold a birthday party for Brick's father, Big Daddy. Rate: Paid. Additional info: In person and virtual submissions accepted.
